Shaping is an important link of making the ceramic material . Some defects formed in the course of shaping is insurmountable only dependning on the improvement of the sintering craft. The shaping craft has already become key technology of making the ceramic material parts of high performance now. It can reduce the ceramic manufacturing cost and has very important meanings to improving the homogeneity , repetitiveness and yield of the ceramic material . The function ceramics adopt traditionally shaping method that sintering(or pressure sintering ) after static compaction. It is difficult to improve the ceramic density by this way,which affects directly the quality and performance of the function ceramics. So, developing the effectual only-forming-type technology of high-density and high-performance ceramics is the key to promote the application and development of the function ceramics.Electromagnetic forming technology is a kind of used widely new shaping craft. Compared with traditional shaping method it has a lot of advantages . Based on the analysis of domestic and overseas situation of function ceramics powder compaction and sintering, we take the lead in applying electromagnetic forming technology to compact function ceramics.On this research, based on the summarization of previous research results on low-voltage electromagnetic compaction of the function ceramics by our school, the author used self-made electromagnetic forming machine to compact several kinds of electronic ceramics powders and sintered them after compacting. The thesis makes initiative research on the effects of three technical parameters that discharge capacitance,structure of coils and taper of amplifier on the green density and sintered density of ceramics.And the author analyzed systematically the effects of discharge voltage, discharge capacitance,structure of coils, taper of amplifier ,discharge times , aspect ratio and shaping methods on the green density and sintered density of ceramics. Subsequently, the electrical performance of ceramics samples were tested after sintering, which used to analyze the different effects between electromagnetic compaction and static compaction on ceramics product performance. In addition, SEM was used to analyze the effects of compaction parameters —such as discharge voltage, discharge capacitance,structure of coils, taper of amplifier ,discharge times and aspect ratio -- on interior structure of ceramics and the different effects between electromagnetic compaction and static compaction on interior structure of ceramics.
