The paper took the production of potassium carbonate with non-carbonization ion-exchange method as the background. The ammonia volatilization process in the production of potassium carbonate was studied and reformed. The former single effect evaporation method was substituted by air stripping at vacuum process. In the article ,heating at normal pressure, heating at vacuum, heating stripping at normal pressure and heating stripping at vacuum were studied. Stripping with padding tower was also studied exploringly. The decompose rule of NH4+ and HCO3- and the influence of temperature, time, pressure, air flux, initial concentration ect. were studied. The decompose order of NH4+ and HCO3- were: heating at normal pressure, heating at vacuum, heating stripping at normal pressure, heating stripping at vacuum. It has been found that solution temperature, time, change of pressure, air flux (to the same solution)had great influence to the decomposition of NH4+ and HCO3-, but initial concentration had relative little influence in the range of the study.Heating stripping at vacuum was the most convenient process of ammonia volatilization in the production of potassium carbonate with ion-exchange. The suitable parameters were: temperature,343K; volatization time,1.5h; air flux ,0.1m /h(for 300ml material solution ); vacuum,0.03Mpa.
