The slaughterhouse wastewater is a kind of typical industrial wastewater with the characters of three highs: high concentration of organic matters; high concentration of ammonia nitrogen and high concentration of suspended substances. If directly discharged it may have a seriously bad influence on the environment so it must be treated to meet the criterion before discharged. The article collected concerned information, and analyse the souse the flux and the feature of water of the slaughterhouse wastewater. The article also compared domestic wastewater disposal technology with the overseas. Through applying the anaerobic and aerobic technology, determining test plan, carrying out local test analysis, researching characteristic of slaughterhouse wastewater, kinetics of biochemical treatment and complex process of wastewater treatment using neutralization theory, the process was utilized to the project of wastewater treatment in some slaughterhouse factory. The article uses ABR (Anaerobic Baffled Reactor) as the anaerobic treating reactor. The ABR has a simple configuration with favorable hydrodynamics. In addition it can be easily started at the first time and has a stable and high efficiency of organic matter removal. In the aerobic part CASS (Cyclic Activated Sludge System) is adopted CASS is a kind of low investment and operational cost technologies with flexible operational ways and good nitrogen and phosphorus removal effect. The combined technology has been successfully applied for actual engineering practice. The wastewater is allowed to discharge after meeting the Discharge Standard of Water Pollutants for meat packing industry (GB13456-92 )...
