Targeted drug delivery systems can selectively deliver drug molecules to the diseased site, rather than evenly distributing them throughout the body and thus can prevent adverse effects on normal organs. In this work, we describe a composite of drug-inorganic hybrid materials and a magnetic material, i.e. a novel core-shell structured magnetic composites containing captopril or 5-aminosalicylic acid intercalated in a layered double hydroxides assembled by a coprecipitation method which has potential application in drug targeting. The synthesis method, crystal structure, particle distribution and magnetic properties for spinel ferrite (MgFe2O4, NiFe2O4 or Fe3O4) were studied. The crystal structure, thermal stability, chemical composition, analysis of surface structure and magnetic properties for ASA-LDHs/MgFe2O4 were studied. According to different layer composites, including MgAl-layer and ZnAl-layer, and different magnetic cores, such as Fe3O4, MgFe2O4...
