Auto Body Panels Cutting Fixture Design Method Based On 3-D Laser Cutting Technology

Because 3-Demension Laser Cutting craft has many unique superiorities on machining for automobile panel, many vehicle manufacturers of home and abroad are adopting the craft to replace some moulds to process the edge cutting and drilling of the panels and the placket of the doors and windows of the car body in the trial-manufacture, research and remodel of sample car in recent years. In the 3-D laser cutting craft, the nicety and rapidity of the workpiece's location is a very important factor to assure the panel's qualities and improve the cutting efficiency.The cutting fixture is not only the final executer but the focus of location research. So it is very indispensable to develop the deep research on the workpiece location and the cutting fixture design method.In the paper, the present theory about workpiece location and the fixture design method of home and abroad are firstly introduced. Secondly, a quick design method for workpiece's location and confirmation of the scheme of the fixture layout based on the "N-2-1" locating principle and ANSYS software are presented by creating the workpiece location analysis design model which can fit the 3-Demension Laser Cutting craft .Thirdly, a kind of original moulding plane location way is adopted to accelerate machining of fixture by 2-D moulding board and brace ball head; The structure of all kinds of fixtures based on standardization, series and flexibility and mechanism between fixtures especially the location layout of location pins and cutting error are discussed in detail;Finally, a bow workpiece cutting fixture design instance is introduced to validate the availability and practicality of the cutting fixture design method which is brought forward in the paper.The study will help to improve the cutting fixture design quality and efficiency,reduce the cost and time of fixture design and manufacture.
