This thesis studies the composition of planting species and ecological function of green land in Taigu Town,Shanxi province. It plans the urban green land of Taigu Town by applying relative theries of urban ecology and landscaping ecology. The results is showed as follows:The main garden plants of urban zone is monotonyous.They account for 12.7% of which is survied including 51 families and 197 species. It includes all graden plants in compus which is relation with the workers pay attention to Greenland and collecting graden plants.The CO2 concentration of suburban district Greenland in the all functional zone is lowest,381.1ppm;and the CO2 concentration of road Greenland is hignest,437.3ppm.In the day conversion of CO-2 concentration,it is hignest in the moming,it drops in the noon and it rises in the afternoon. The CO2conversion is stable in the zones which are afforested better.It draws a conclusion through surveying atmosphere microorganisms, the urban area had been slightly polluted and reached class 3, some areas reached slight pollution. The correlation between the atmosphere microorganisms, stream of people and stream of vehicles have straight dependence its correlation coefficient is 0.895,it reaches remarkable level.Plants have obvious adjustment to air temperature and humidity. On the same condition, the air temperature in the area which is afforested better is lowered 2.34°C and the humidity is raised 8.51%.The urban area had been slightly polluted through the surveying of the content of TSP which has surpassed the standard. Garden plants have obvious effect of reduceing dust. The content of TSP in the woods is obviously lower than on the uncovered land and the percentage of reducing dust reaches 79.5%.Urban Greenland system is an important part of the urban ecological and environmental system. The study can offer some theoretical foundations to the Greenland planning of small and medium-sizes cities whit ecological basis which is through surveying the composition and feature of urban garden plant and determing the environmental and ecological functions of garden plant.
