The landfill liner is the key part of a landfill. Basing on the actuality of LaoHuChong landfill in ShenYang, taking factors such as security and cost into consideration, this paper used clayey soil as the landfill liner, which was padded with the Ca-benbonite. First, the effects of dry density, bentonite percentage and bentonite grain distribution on its permeability were studied. Second, the quality of the landfill liner such as chemic enduring, cut intensity, expanding volume,frosting volume were examined. And at last, by the actual tests, the effects of soil's grain distribution, mixed degree and road rollers on its permeability were analysed.According to the results, it is detected that the effect of the modified clayey soil is the same as the one whose ply is 2m and permeability coefficient is 1.0×10-7cm/s while the modified one is 3050cm and 10-8 cm/s10-9 cm/s, respectively. The proposed process has such advantage as simplicity in operation, good effect and low cost. At the same time, it is also detected that dry density is the main factor affecting the quality of the landfill liner.
