With the rapid development of the information society, the Geographical Information System (GIS), as the core of "3S" technology, has become an important part of the earth information.science. It is necessary to carry out scientific and efficient evaluation for the controlling and tackle of the mining damage. Based on deals with the evaluation system of mining damage. It mainly covers the following aspects:Based on the analysis and comprehension, the evaluation objects can be abstracted as point object, linear object and planar object, and the calculation method against each type of mining subsidence has been established; The fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model suited to the building damage and the matter-element model for the identification of the ranks of building damage are set up. At the same time, the corresponding relation of the color value to the deformation value has been investigated, which makes a good visual effect for the result display; The matter-element model for the land damage evaluation and the optimum allocation of subsiding land have been putted forward. The calculation methods for the subsiding area and volume have been presented; The internal transfer, exchange and the visual expression of the data have been realized;Through the design of optimum interface and structures, the system software combining mining damage evaluation, the quantitative calculation and decision-making of environmental protection and recovery engineering is developed.
