The thermal properties and mechanical properties of polymers can largely be improved by incorporating POSS groups into the polymer matrix. Therefore, the polymers containing POSS have drawn much attention recently. Because of their unique performance in the field of catalyst, micro-and meso-porous and low dielectric materials, the crosslinked polymers containing POSS are becoming a focus of research. Series of crosslinked polymers containing POSS were synthesized in this thesis. The main contents include three parts as follows:(1) The preparation of different POSS molecules containing multiple functionalgroups and the development of crosslinked polymers containing POSS were reviewed in detail.(2) A kind of POSS molecule (T8H8) with multiple functional groups and four organiccompounds that contain different chain length and two double bonds in the molecule ends were synthesized.(3) Four groups of crosslinked polymers containing POSS were prepared by reactionof double functional organic compounds and the multifunctional POSS molecule, respectively, and their structures were characterized by FTIR, 1H-NMR, 29Si-NMR, and X-ray. The results show that their cross-link density can be controlled by altering the molar ratio of the organic compound to the POSS molecule and the length of the organic molecular chain. The thermal stabilities of the polymers were tested by TGA and it was found that the thermal properties were dependent on the cross-link density and the length of the organic linkers between the POSS molecules.
