Pollution of our environment has been serious increasingly due to development of science and industry so far.It was noticeable that the pollution caused by SO2 and acid rains has been a large obstacle to the sustainable development of our social economy.So it is meaningful to research and develop the new technologies of flue desulphurization for solving the problem of pollution by SO2 and acid rains. It ,therefore, was significant that development of the new method of preparation of activated carbon material for flue desulphurization and research of the law of preparation, structure and performance of the material was used to resolve the current problem in the technologies of flue desulphurization.The use of microwave irradiation in preparation of activated carbon was a new design and method for the technology of preparation. The preparation of activated carbon from columnar and spherical raw material made from corncob agrowaste by using microwave irradiation was an innovation. In this paper, introduce the preparation of columnar and spherical activated carbons with gas activation and gas activation with K2CO3 by using microwave irradiation. In the study of preparation columnar activated carbon from PW-1 with gas activation by means of microwave irradiation, orthogonal experiment in which we chose three factor:power,flow of CO2,time of irradiation and appraised by the amount of I2 absorbed and yeid of activated carbon showed the power of microwave irradiation was the most factor of affecting adsorption.Then put emphasis on investigating the rule that power affected structure and performance.After having analyzd graphitic structure by using XRD, investigated pore structure by isotherm adsorption of 77K N2, analyzed surface group content by titration, and tested performance by I2 absorbed method and desulphurization experiment, the results showed that microwave irradiation mainly burned a-direction size of graphite which was increased with power increasing ,that the activation power was selected at 640W,at which the surface area of activated carbon was 187.7 m2·g-1,volume of pore 13.68×10-2 cm3·g-1,and mean pore size 2.916nm ,and that surface acid groups were partly decomposed by microwave irradiation but ,noticeably ,carboxylic acid group was mostly decomposed with 0.0345mmol·g-1 remained while basic groups were stable so that property of surface chemistry of activated carbon was basic. By comparing difference between structure and performance of activated carbons by difference heating ,the results showed that although the surface area of activated carbon by microwave irradiation was less than by electrical heating , the two in desulphurization property was the same because the two had the same surface chemistry property. In the study of preparation ,structure and performance of spherical activated carbon, through comparing influence of two-heating-means-combination on graphitic structure, the results showed that graphitic structure by microwave irradiating carbonization was unfavorable to activation. After electrical heating activating char by microwave irradiation ,the desulphurization experiment indicated that the amount of SO2 absorbed in 2.5hr was 130.1mg·g-1 and the mean desulphurization percent 92.5%.Investigated preparation and structure and performance of activated carbon from corncob agrowaste with K2CO3 immingled by microwave irradiaton , and analyzed influence of different post treatments on structure and performance by means of XRD and detected their mechanisms of desulphurization. In study of preparation,structure and performance of activated carbon loading catalysts ,investigated influence of factors such as means of heating, kinds of crystals(MnO2,CuO+V2O5),and ratio of catalysts on desulphurization , the results showed that the ratio affected desulphurization more than the other factors.Using XRD to analyze structure of activated carbon before and after desulphurization,theresults showed the state of catalysts after desulphurization was different from that of before. In the study of performance of bed fluid mechanics of columnar and spherical carbon, after having researched the relationship between flow of gas and pressure drop by carbon filled under different size of granule carbon, different shape ,different padding height, the results showed no matter what size granule carbon, with flow of gas increasing , pressure of drop by spherical carbon was less than that by columnar carbon.
