At present, product design, which used to focus on technologies, is turning around individualized design with emphasis on specific customer or customer group. Traditional feature-based design can't respond to people's demand specially and fast. To satisfy the people's demand for the special shoes of themselves and solve this contradiction, on the basis of Reverse Engineering, a method to design the shoe-tree, which based on feature and restriction, is proposed. The content of this paper places emphasis on constructing the feature-based model of foot, predigesting the data of feet, reconstructing the new model of the special feet and developing the prototype system.Firstly, based on feature and restriction in the Reverse Engineering, construct all-purpose surface of feet and found parameterized model. In this step, after surface expression is analyzed, decide to adopt B-Spline surface to expressing the surface. At the same time, after discussing the connection between feet and shoe-trees and pointing out their feature points, construct the model of feet, which can show the feet model's features and trend. Otherwise, divide the feet surface into pieces on the basis of their feature, provide topological connection among them and condition about continuity. After doing so much work, the feature-based model is constructed; Secondly, gather the data of feet by ATOS system, predigest the data according to the shape of feet. Thirdly, on the basis of the feature-based model, reconstruct the feet model's surface. In this step, the content is mainly about matching between data and surface, founding the condition equation about continuity, dividing the data, etc. Finally, develop the FBFRES-a system is used to produce the feet model specially.
