The aluminum electrolysis cell is the major equipment for the production of aluminum.How to prolong the cell life concerns mostly for the researchers in this field. It is our common hope to prolong the potlife and decrease the cost of repairing and production and save energy.Based on the actual situation of GL corp., the methods on prolonging the potlife were studied,and the main contents and results are as follow:1 Adopting the TiB2 coat to improve the moist the aluminum liquid have on it,which can prolong the working time of negative carbon blocks. 2 For those side-damage cells caused by the heat imbalance useside carbon blocks remolding for prolong the lifespan. 3 Fueling block experiment which is conducted on 75KA,to improve negative current distribution and rising temp as well as the production of the heat stress.4 Side heat dissemination,optimize the construction of inside,use the dry permeate-proof as a substitute for the powder of Al2O3 or the fire block,and use SiN3-SIC2 to replace the average side carbon blocks,which can prevent the side of cell from eroding to prolong the lifespan of cell. 5 Optimize the producing tech indices to keep steady production.
