With the development of natural gas industry,all kinds of domestic appliances have been increasing. At the same time, with the application of natural gas, NOx emission from gas appliances do harm to the health. The severe hazard of NOx pollution is widely realized worldwide, and the concept of indoor pollution is gradually accepted. With the purpose to solve the problem of indoor NOx pollution, conducted to study the low-NOx effect of offstoichiometric combustion technology to domestic appliances. At the beginning of the article, the components, hazards and sources of NOx are stated, and the current research status of low-NOx combustion technology home and abroad is introduced. Afterwards, the formation mechanism of NOx and the corresponding abatement measurements are systematically analyzed, and simplifying the formation mechanism of NOx in the course of CH4 combustion. Off-stoichiometric combustion is one of technology, which control NOx emission through making rich flame and lean flame burn in firebox at the same time. The combustion form of rich flame is part-premixed combustion and lean flame is premixed combustion. In our country, this technology is still being Studied. In this paper, the means of theory analysis (numerical simulation included) are used. By numerical simulation of Off-stoichiometric combustion we can draw the conclusion that if we want to control NOx emission, the prefect air ratio of rich flame is 0.6~0.7 and lean flame,1.6~1.7 which burn completely and steadily too. It is pointed out in this paper that the prefect air ratio can reduce the NOx.
