| This paper deals with status of eight heavy metals (Hg, Cd, Pb, As, Cu, Cr, Ni and Zn) in the soil from the Fengrun region, Tangshan City, Hebei province and quality evaluation of the soil. The result of the investigation indicates that: 1. the study area soil is neutral — alkaline — strongly alkaline;2. the organic matter content is widespread low;3. high concentrations of all heavy metals distribute in the localities where there are intensive mankind's activities. The most outstanding localities are Xiaodaodi village, Shawoxin village, Puzhuangzi village, Qianxinzhuang village, Xuezhuang village and Hancheng town. The main pollutant exhausting enterprises in study area are Guofurunxing Milk Ltd. , the hennery, Jinxiang chemical fibre factory, Tangshan Fuming steel Ltd. , discard article processing plant, Tangshan Hongda building materials machine factory and Blue Arrows weighing apparatus factory.The evaluation standard is the Environmental quality standard for soils-GB 15618-1995. The Single Pollution Index, Weighting Synthetical Pollution Index, Nemerow Synthetical Pollution Index and the Matter Element Model have been adapted to evaluation of heavy metals pollution status and the soil quality. The results show that the study area soil has not been polluted. This area is suitable for the green food production basis. Among the four evaluation methods, the Single Pollution Index can't show the degree above standard very clearly by over or below the standard value. The synthetical weighted Pollution Index can give the different contamination and the dangerous nature in various regions to a certain degree. But it may been affected by maximum and minimum value in some localities. The Nemerow Synthetical Pollution Index not only gives prominence to the influence of the highest concentration pollutant upon the soil environment, but also reflects influence of other pollutants upon the soil. The Matter End Model Based on hierachical Analysis Method considers the weights of pollutants to soil quality. It's easy to calculate and its results have highvisualizability and credibility, so it is a kind of viable soil quality evaluation method. |
