The influence of far-infrared radiated by polar crystalline tourmaline mineral material on water's strcture was investigated in this paper by solid/liquid independent method to eliminate spontaneous electric field of tourmaline;and some biologic effects of tourmaline was also researched, such as the influence of electric field, far-infrared, negative ions on percentage of seedgermination and cell multiplication. Tourmaline/PE compound film and thin slab were prepared to study their performances of activating water and fruit-keeping.Result showed that the hydrogen bonds between water moleculars were weakened throuth resonance with far-infrared from tourmaline;far-infrared spectrum of water treated by tourmaline in the solid/liquid independent device was compared with that of water treated indirectly, far-infrared of tourmaline played a more important role in changing hodrogen bonds than electric field of tourmaline. Surface tension of water in the solid/liquid independent device was decreased after the treatment of tourmaline, and there was some relations between the reduction and reaction time, diameter of tourmaline powder, dosage and temperature. In the laboratory, when D50 was 6.5μm and gT = gw was 0.5, the surface tension of water was reduced from 72.571mN·m-1 to 72.049mN·m-1 in 2 hours, and Hank's body fluid was from 72.485 mN·m-1 to 71.868 mN·m-1;The dissolved oxygen of water was increased by 7.8%, and the conductivity 9.8%, the evaporation rate 10.4%, pH value was decreased from 5.32 to 4.85.The germinative number of horsebeans and peas were raised by 44% with activated water by tourmaline. 200μl 1 X 106/ml mouse's H22 cell, 200μ 4X 106/ml splenic cell, 200μl 1 × 106/mlepidermal cell were all inhibited after the action of tourmaline. It is analyzed that the factors which effected the multiplication of the cells included direct action which are tourmaline's electric field, far-infrared, negative ions and solvent ions, and indirect effect which are small water clusters and pH value.Tourmaline/PE compound film was prepared with different thickness and amount of tourmaline. This film had a certain air permeability. The effect of this film on freshness of fruit was investigated, and the result showed that Tourmaline/PE compound film could efficiently keep the water in the fruit, inhibit mycete, and prevent the decaying of fruit. Electric field, far-infrared, negative ions from tourmaline were propitious to the freshness of fruit. The reduction of surface tension of water treated by tourmaline/PE compound thin film with 10% tourmaline was 12 times more than the water not treated with the thin slab, the saturated dissolved oxygen was raised by 0.3mg/L, and the evaporation rate was raised by 10.4%.
