The electrochemical synthesis is a key method in the preparation of conducting polymers. High-quality inherently conducting polymers prepared using fused ring aromatic compounds as monomers by electrochemical polymerization has attracted great attention in recent years. It is well known that boron trifluoride diethyl etherate (BFEE) solution is a middle strong Lewis acid. It is also a better electrolyte for the electrosynthesis of high quality conducting polymers from various aromatic monomers, such as thiophene, benzene and their derivatives. This dissertation focused on the eletrosynthesis of high-quality conducting polymers from fluorene, 9,9-diethylfluorene, 9,9-dioctylfluorene in pure BFEE. And the electrolyte composed of methanol and trifluoride diethyl etherate (BFEE) was also invested.High quality free - standing polyfluorene (PFe) films were synthesized electrochemically by direct anodic oxidation of fluorene in pure boron trifluoride diethyl etherate (BFEE) on stainless steel sheet. The oxidation potential of fluorene in this medium was measured to be only 1.1 V vs SCE, the conductivity of polyfluorene was 0.25 S cm-1. The polymerization mainly occurred at 2,7 position of fluorene. It was found that the polymer is a good blue light emitter.Poly(9,9-diethylfluorene) was synthesized electrochemically in pure trifluoride diethyl etherate firstly. The conductivity of it was about 10-2 S cm-1.It was black in doped state, yellow in dedoped state. As-formed polymer was soluble in dichloromethane,trichloromethane and acetone.Poly(9,9-dioctylfuorene) was synthesized in pure trifluoride diethyl etherate. The oxidation potential was only 1.25 V vs.SCE. The conductivity of it was about 0.05 S cm-1.The polymer was soluble in dichloromethane, trichloromethane, acetone and tetrahydrofuran.The system of boron trifluoride diethyl etherate and methal mixed proton solution was studied. The ironic conductivity reachs to 20 mS cm-1.The main conduct electricity ions were CH3OBF3- from the complex of CH3OBF3H and CH3OH2+.
