Spur gears are important driving parts which are broad used in mechanical industry, but the traditional machining operation can not satisfied the requirement of industry because of the low utilization rate of material, the low productivity and the high output cost. Recent years the cold-forging precision for cylindrical spur gear becomes the trend in development of spur gear molding for its high utilization rate of material, high productivity, the precise dimensional accuracy of parts, the nice surface quality.The surface patch constructed by flowline can significantly decrease the resistance force in the travel of fluid. Degree of distortion is an important factor which can influence compression force on the condition of certain material behaviour and molding method, the higher degree of distortion, the higher compressive force. Based on these theory, lead the concept of flowline and equal area change in CAD design, construction a female die meet the case of rheological property of metal, will have positive meanings for improving the mental flow uniformity , conditioning mental flowability, decreasing forming pressure, raising lifespan of female die, abating selfcost of extrusion.First, by the analysis of flowline , the paper created the parametric equation of the dedendum flowline, laminated the female die, carried out the math modeling of female die. By the math moldel, set up the parametric geometric model in moulded software-CATIA, using its powerful function of curve and camber. Then striked up the finite element model, defined analog parameter, inducted into simulation software-DEFORM for analog computation. Analysed the results of numerical simulation, optimize the structure, finally gained the most optimum design project of female die.Apply the molding theory of spur gear cold extrusion and the theory of plasticity finite element, submitted some visualized designing thoughts and improvements, the paper will play a positive role in developing the precise form of spur gear.
