The ecological impact of heated discharge of thermoelectric power plant is all along the attentive problem in the construction of plant and the protection of water resource, is also an important part for environmental researchers. The article establishes a mathematic model-3D heat transfer model based on POM model for simulating the impact of heated discharge.The articles analyzed the vertical diffusivity of heat, and modified vertical diffused coefficients considering the impact of buoyancy. The results were proved appropriate in the research.For an example, the model was successfully utilized into the simulation for the change of current field and temperature field of Yangzi River according to the different hydrological condition, which caused by the heated discharge from Tiansheng Port Power Plant.In the end, the article provided environmental foundation for designing projects of the plant and offered scientific instruction for the programming of protection of water ecology.
