As a nano semiconductor oxide, TiO2 is a photocatalyst that shows high photoefficiency and oxidation activity. TiO2 has become a hot research area because it can decompose organic pollutants into CO2 and H2O in gases and liquids. In recent years, the technique of TiO2 photocatalysis oxidation as a new kind of water treatment process with great potential application which is especially in the organic substances degradation for its outstanding effect. The method of electrically assisted photocatalysis makes use of the bias potential to take away the photoelectrons and decrease the combination of electron-holes. This paper mainly investigated the photocatalytic degradation of reactive brilliant red X-3B and pesticide wastewater respectively using modified TiO2 prepared by Sol-Gel method and electrically assisted photocatalytic apparatus. The method can evidently increase the photoeffciency. The study of electrically assisted photocatalysis reactor is very popular in the photocatalysis oxide aspect, in this article, the light catalyst reactor provided good results which was prepared for industry production and provided research basis for . application. The main contents and results of experiments are as following:The electrically assisted photocatalytic of Reactive Brilliant Red X-3B was studied with Ti net as basic material which coated with Ru0.3Ti0.7O2 photocatalyst prepared by sol-gel method and applying varies voltage and current to it .The effects of the anode current ,different electrolytes, pH value and chloride concentration on reactive brilliant red X-3B degradation rate were compared. The result was found that electrically assisted photocatalytic degradation rate is faster than the single electricity-catalysis and photocatalysis degradation value. The pesticide wastewater is typical high concentration organic wastewater. CODcr concentration is above 10000 mg/L. The higher COD pesticide wastewater was treated by electrically assisted photocatalytic apparatus. The treated effluent quality attained the third criteria specified in the integrated wastewater diacharge standard (GB8978-1996).The carbon nanotubes have been prepared by CVD method and characterized by X-rays and TEM. We have also prepared the carbon nanotubes air-cathode , which was used in the degradation of reactive brilliant red X-3B, pesticide wastewater. The formation of radical OH has been confirmed by an indirect method. The experimental results showed that carbon nanotubes air-cathode was much higher than carbonblack air-cathode in the photo-electricity catalytic performances. It is considered that the carbon nanotubes new material have large potential and broad application prospect.
