The sanitary landfill method is one of the most effective methods to dispose municipal solid waste(MSW) ultimatly, which has advantages of simple processes and low fees. With the increasing in urban population in China, the discharge amount of MSW has heavily risen. Reduction of land resources makes people pay their attention to the reutilization of sanitary landfills, which is involved in the stabilization of sanitary landfills. One of the most important indexes of the stabilization is MSW elements.Firstly this thesis systematically and strategically investigates the MSW elements in the landfill, establishes corresponding meterage formula and quantitativly analyzes the elements of chengdu MSW. Secondly, through analyzing the MSW sample pieces in the landfill, this thesis researches the quantitative relations between the biodegradable content in the solid residue and the landfill time during degradation of MSW. Finally computation formula about catabolite output is established under the main equations in the course of degradation of biodegradable MSW elements. On the basis of the practical situation of Changan sanitary landfill, this thesis analyzes the degradation laws of biodegradable MSW elements and predicts the generating laws of degradation products. The study shows that Chengdu MSW has an emphasis on kitchen refuse, in which plentiful hydrocarbon, protein and adipose are contained. The adipose content is slightly higher in Chengdu than in any other destrict. The experiment shows that the biodegradable MSW content is decreasing gradually in the course of degradation. After 718 days, biodegradable MSW attenuates in a negative index. The analysis result indicates that the catabolite consists of CO2 and CH4, including a small quantity of NH3 and H2S.The research is an instructive attempt to the laws of MSW degradation and to the quantification of resultant output. The experimental result is useful for reference to the running, management and design of sanitary landfills later.
