With the improvement of manufacturing technology, as important base part of large-scale equipment, large gear is applied more and more widely. Therefore, the requirement of high measuring precision becomes stringent. Based on analysis and comparison of domestic and foreign measuring principle and technology of large gear, in-suit measurement is ascertained as the research direction of this thesis.Based on the principle of differential geometry, in the thesis, the characteristics of involute tooth profile are studied, and the representative curve families on profile, that is involute family, straight generatrix family, helix family, and line of contact family, are analyzed, whose deviations affect directly the quantity of gear transmission. The character curve grid formed by any two of them can be regarded as the gist assessing the characteristics of involute tooth profile precision, which points the direction of gear measurement. And then, by the use of medium rack, the line engaging theory of involute gear on the parallel axis condition and the point theory on the stagger axis condition are studied, which offers the theoretical base.According to the new national gear standard, three deviation-measuring items must be included in the checkout of single gear: profile deviation, helix deviation and pitch deviation. Because pitch deviation measuring technology is very mature, the main research objective of this thesis is laid on the checkout of profile deviation and helix deviation. After research of measuring theory and technology of involute helicoids characteristic lines, straight generatrix deviation in-suit measuring theory and technology project with rack-shaped-edge probe is first put forward. With the measurement of every deviations of straight generatrix family on tooth profile, the error-separating mathematical model for the tooth profile deviation and helix deviation is established based on straight generatrix deviation, and measuring grids are ensured. The measuring data are processed and the tooth profile deviation and the helix deviation are thus separated. In this thesis, the keytechnologies of in-suit measuring large gear, such as the signal collection of precision linear displacement and angle displacement, and the determination of measuring coordinate system, especially the determination of measuring benchmark, are researched in-deeply. And then precision analysis was also performed.After the above theoretical study, in this thesis, the mechanism and orientation system of in-suit measurement are designed.
