Zinc powder possesses some outstanding properties such as high reducing and corrosive resistance, so it can be applied in metallurgy, battery industries as well as the doping industry which presents a flourishing situation in the future. It is a valid way to develop Zinc resource and improve its extra value by producing ultrafine Zinc dust.The general manufacturing process as well as the research and development status of zinc powder in our country were introduced in the paper. The basic principle and process for producing superfine zinc powder with redistillation and evaporation condensation method was described. The description is also given to features in optimization of zinc powder screen classification by introducing pneumatic classifier for yielding a variety of high quality zinc powder product. The process of manufacturing high-powered zinc powder for doping by tower style furnace was also introduced and accessorial equipment, such as distribution rooms, which was used to store distributive zinc powder and double condensers and the system of nitrogen cyclone for maintaining cooling equipments, and operation were presented, as well as principles and properties of air classifier. It is pointed out that the key to production of superfine zinc powder lies in quick condensing and pneumatic classification and main factors that effect production and product quality are discussed. Crude zinc is used as raw material to produce the zinc powder with finer particle and higher surface activity in refining furnace, it has the features of simple technology, pollution-free, less investment and product quality reaches the national standard.
