In this paper, according to object-oriented analysis and design, the method that implement the pre-process module and post-process module of the 3D cooling simulation software HSCAE are discussed. Some key techniques of the realization are analyzed in details. Both the pre-process module and the post-process module are implemented on OpenGL. The main functions of pre-process module are to establish the frame model of the cooling system and to set the parameters of the cooling technics. At first, the function demand and performance requirement of the pre-process module are analyzed. Based on this, the object model, dynamic model and function model of the pre-process module are built step by step. The methods of each class are defined according to the dynamic model. Some key techniques including select mechanism and the calculation of the distribution of coolant , which are crucial to improve the capability of the pre-process module,are also discussed in details. The primary purpose of the post-process module is to display all the field data created by the cooling numerical simulation module in form of image or animation by making use of visualization techniques, which helps technician to analyze the result of the simulation. Just like the pre-process module, the function demand and performance requirement of the post-process module are also analyzed. There are two kinds of data that are steady field data and transient field data created by the cooling numerical simulation module. The post-process module adopts RGB color mapping to display both of these data. In order to show transient field data more clearly, animation techniques are applied. The data of the intermediate frame is created according to the data of the key frame. Finally, the summary of the paper is made, and at the same time some suggestions to improve the performance of the system are made.
