The strata and surface movements resulting from underground mining can cause the surface water in the mining range to burst into the underground mines, which threaten the security of the production in coal mines. When treating with coal mining under water, we should mostly consider if the cracks resulting from mining in the overburden are interconnected and if the interconnected cracks spread to the water. Therefore, to research the overburden's destructive rules, especially the water suture zone's height is of great importance. In this paper, in allusion to the overburden's types and mining conditions in Xieqiao Mine, consulting the on-the-spot results of the water suture zone's height, the author gains the main factors that influnce it with simulating method. With the numerical simulation, the author analyzes each factor 's effect on the water suture zone's height. According to the analog results and attaching the on-the-spot data, the author analyzes every factors influncing the water suture zone's height and sets up its prognostic computation expression. The positive result can act as the important reference frame, moreover, it has certain referenced value in the theoretical investigation on the overburden's destructions, so has it in the engineering practice.
