Steel strip are widely used in many fields such as automobile, building,communication and house appliance, etc. The quality of strip is judged by itsgeometry, mechanical properties and surface precision. Satisfactorydimensional accuracy in both width and gauge control have been obtainedfrom the application of the fast response hydraulic AWC and AGC systems.Since the later half of the 1970's, the problems of strip profile and flatness,however, have been the major research project. Intense research has beencarried out and provided a fundament for the developments of variousinnovations and technologies in control of crown and flatness.Literature of world-wide research on the theory of strip hot rolling wasupdated, as well as the progress in hot strip production. A three-dimensionalcombined multi-parameter simulation system for analysis of hot strip processhas been developed. In this system, the plastic deformation of strip iscalculated by rigid-plastic FEM, roll deflection is calculated by influentialfunction method and flattening is calculated by elastic FEM. The softwaredeveloped for the coupling simulation has simulated the rolling process ofhot-rolled plate and hot-rolled band on four-high mill, PC mill, HCM mill andHCW mill. It has researched the stress of the mills and its deforming characteron condition of different convexity and cross sliding amount of the rollers anddifferent curving force on rollers. And it also has analyzed the convexity ofplate and the capacity of manipulation on the shape of the four-high mill, PCmill, HCM mill and HCW mill.Coupling simulation system can make research on the rolling process ofhot-rolled band and hot-rolled plate under different conditions, accordingly wecan gain large quantity information such as the distribution of draught pressureand contact pressure between rollers, the elastic bending and bruisingdeformation of the working roll, the transverse distribution of the slab egressthickness, the transverse distribution of fore-and-aft stretching force, and so on.Also, the coupling simulation system can be applied to the force parameterprediction on the rolling process in reality and the optimization of the rollingparameter.
