With market economy developing rapidly, waterage market flourishes in our country. The amount of watercraft, as well as tonnage and power of shipping are increasing quickly in interior rivers. Water transport is becoming a significant force to promote domestic economy development. At the same time, water pollution, especially oil pollutant, caused by shipping appears more and more severe, which becomes a notable topic. In order to solve this problem, so many projects are carried out to alleviate water pollution by oil. But the effects of these projects are assessed qualitatively, and fewer quantitatively. The reasons for this are as follows. Firstly, compared with point pollution, shipping pollution is moving. In addition, the type and run time of ships vary diversely. So, it is hard to calculate the quantity and location of oil wastewater discharge. Secondly, oil pollutant doesn't distribute evenly in vertical direction, and calculated values are not the same as measured ones.Xuyang segment of Jinghang canal is selected to study transportation of oil pollutant in water body. The concentration range and source of oil wastewater are found by experiment via analyzing different ships in type, tonnage, and power items. Vertical diffusion coefficient of oil pollutant is also gained as well.Base on the character of oil pollutant, forecasting formula is formed to compute wastewater quantity and oil concentration of pollutant source. According to hydrodynamic character of Jinghang canal, an appropriate water quantity and water quality model is established, in which finite difference scheme is used. It is the final step to compute oil concentration in sampling location by distribution formula in vertical direction.According to simulation result, prevention methods must be put forward to solve shipping oil pollution, and environmental benefit should be analyzed.
