Coal direct liquefaction is an important energy policy in China. As an effective technology to produce oil substitutions, coal direct liquefaction has a lot of strategic and realistic significances for resolving oil scarceness, balancing energy forms, ensuring energy security, and for national economic developments of our country. In order to advance coal direct liquefaction technology, it is an essential step to carry out cold model experiments on the hydrodynamics of the coal direct liquefaction multiphase reactors for an effective design of the reactor configuration, enhanced transport properties and so on.In this paper, hydrodynamics of bubbly and three phases flows was investigated in both bubble column and airlift loop draft tube reactors with the test section of which consisting of a Plexiglas column with an inner diameter of 0.2 m and a height of 2.5 m. Using air and water as the gas and liquid...
