The protection of environment has already been the important question to human being. green organic synthesis is the hot field to people. The text summarized the theory of green synthesis and the measure and technique realized the green synthesis. The tradition organic synthesis commonly use solvent, some poisonous solvents can volatilizate and cause the environment polluted. Solvent-free organic synthesis is newly springing up and it is an important method to settle the pollution. This text summed up some newly and model reaction types, and pointed out the merits and foreground who would apply to organic synthesis. Due to the character of reaction of solid state, Majority of solid state reactions have higher efficiency and better selectivity than the reactions in solvent.Molecular shuttle locate foreland research field in organic chemistry, they are composed of one cyclic compound and a dumbbell-shaped compound. This text summarized the familiar types of cyclic compounds. Dumbbell-shaped compounds are the key building-blocks to buildup molecular shuttles. The steps of synthesized dumbbell-shaped compounds were reported by literatures. The literatures pointed out when the compounds became salt they used anhydrous ethanol as solvents, needed heat under reflux for several days, and had low yield as well as outgrowth at the same time. So it's difficult to separate and purify. So this text advanced a new method to synthesis dumbbell-shaped compounds: solvent–free organic synthesis.The new method to synthesis the dumbbell-shaped compounds needs shorter time, has higher yield and works up easily.We synthesized one type of dumbbell-shaped compounds bridged by 4,4'- bipyridi- nie, synthesized one type of dumbbell-shaped compounds Bis–4,4'- bipy ridinie bridged by o-biphenmethyl from solid state melting, and synthesized another type of Dumbell–Shaped Compound of Bis–4, 4'–bipyridinie Bridged by 2, 2'–Bipyridine by method of solvent–free synthe- sis. This three type reactions all made 4, 4'-bipyridinie salting, formed one or more mo- lecular recognition station, and made foundation for assembly of molecular shuttle. At every step of the first two compounds when the compounds became salt, we synthesiz- ed it by solid state melting. When we synthesized the last compound we used grinding method in key step. It was proved that the reaction time become short, the process we purified the production become easy, the yield of the production become higher than traditional synthesis in solvents.
