The regulation of acidogenisis of sludge from waste water treatment plant (WWTP) was studied in a lab-scale experiment.The effect of some factors such as the characteristic of inoculated anaerobic sludge, the use quantum of CHCl3, original pH, the addition of microelement and the variety of sludge on the biochemical acidogenic potential (BAP) of sludge were investigated.The result indicated that the sludge which was not inoculated with anaerobic sludge has better acidogenic efficiency than that of sludge inoculated with anaerobic sludge. To inhabit the production of methane gas and to achieve the maximum production of volatile fatty acid (VFA), CHCl3 was added as inhabitator and the optimal quantum is 0.03mM. Adjusting the original pH and adding microelement had not eminent effect on the BAP of sludge.
