The rapidly developed drying technologies have provided the chemical engineering and pharmaceutical industries with effective methods to reduce drying-process costs and promote economic benefits. It is especially more significant for state-owned enterprises which are facing the more and more competitive marketing challenges how to make best uses of modern industrial technologies and how to improve the practical skills and competences in present days when the spring tide of market economy is surging every corner of our country.Drying KGA is a key process in the production of vitamin c (Vc). The existing dryers for KGA, however, have not accordingly satisfied the increasing demands of Vc synthetics. The characteristics and suitable operating conditions of different dryers have been discussed in this paper, with comparisons, the pulsed pneumatic dryer is taken as the experimental target for drying KGA and its working programs are technologically reformed. The overall resolutions for the pneumatic drying system are confirmed with laying stresses on the analysis and considerations of defects of original dryers, weighing the facts of Vc production line in Northeast General Pharmaceutical Group (NGPG) and depending on the physical and chemical properties of KGA; through the scheduled construction and field regulations and tests, a unique package of drying system for KGA is formed with decided parameters for the dryer in accordance of related theories and designed control system. In the process of an industrialized experiment, the innovated and reformed system has shown its advantages over the original ones, with enhancements of production capacity and product quality, and with the satisfactions of large scale demand and improvements of drying technologies for KGA. Compared with the old...
