Au/Fe2O3 and Au/NiO catalysts were prepared by deposition-precipitation(DP) method and co-precipitation(CP) method respectively. Effects of preparation methods on the catalytic activity of Au/Fe2O3 and Au/NiO were also learned. The results of activity measurement showed that both of the catalysts, prepared by DP and CP methods, all were active for full oxidation of formaldehyde (HCHO) which is a harmful gas in the indoor air. By catalytic oxidation, HCHO could be got rid off. HTEM analysis showed that gold particle mean size was 22.0nm in DP Au/Fe2O3 catalyst, and was thin slice like in shape to be found. In the CP Au/Fe2O3 catalyst, the gold particle mean size was 32.5nm.According to Haruta's argument, gold particle size must be in the range of 2—5nm in order to obtain good catalytic activity for oxidation of CO, HCHO, VOCs and so on. But in this experiment the most of the gold particle size in the two catalysts were...
