The induction heating generates heat by the eddy current producing in the material, which bases on the electromagnetism induction. At present, heating before forging has widely adopted induction heating. If the temperature difference of roughcast between center and surface before forging is too large, the adjunctive stress and organization in the roughcast will be asymmetry when it is being forged and it indeed leads to crack of forging, which will effect shaped technics and the quality of forged work as well as effect the life-span of mould. Thereby the temperature of roughcast should be controlled in the reasonable bound. In this paper, basing on the principle and characteristic of induction heating, the finite element simulation of induction heating of 45 steel roughcast before forging is studied. The purpose is to forecast the heat behavior of induction heating and provide gist for the design of induction winding...
