With the development of advanced technology, many kinds of performances of the materials are demanded. The appearance of multiplex material promotes a big progress in material science field. Metal Matrix Composites(MMC), with its fine physical and mechanical performance, are widely used in spaceflight, advanced weapons, new cars and medical instruments, etc. Because of these, MMCs have become a hot focus of multiplex material science. But the existence of their strengthening grain makes them difficult to manufacture. This is the most important reason to prevent MMCs to be widely used. Therefore, it is important to study the technique of machining MMCs.This dissertation is oriented on the adverse machining performance of MMCs, comes up a scheme of the motorized spindle used for ultrasonic vibration milling and grinding, and tests the related capabilities of the motorized spindle. The main contents are as follows:The applying fields and adverse machining performance of MMCs are expatiated. The principle of ultrasonic milling-grinding and the domestic and overseas development of the motorized spindle are introduced.The principle of the ultrasonic generator is introduced, and the method of importing the electricity of the ultrasonic energy conversion device is studied. In addition the bearings are chosen and its related capabilities are studied. The cooling method of the three-phase asynchronism AC motor is selected. At the same time, the ordinary three-phase asynchronism AC motor is designed and chosen.Based on longitudinal vibration equation of the alterable section pole, the electrostriction material is chosen and the half wavelength vibration system which is suitable for ultrasonic milling and grinding manufacture is designed. Besides, the scheme of the tool replacement is studied and the mathematics model of the tool impedance matching is set up.After the motorized spindle has been produced, the test of the correlative capabilities is carried out.
