The AlTiB master alloy is a good kind of grain refiner for Aluminium and its alloys. Moreover, it is low cost and easily controlled. But there are some problems with the quality of the AlTiB master alloy in the world at present, for example the large size of TiAl3 and TiB2 which exist in the AlTiB master alloy as second phases will reduce effect of refiner.Equal Channel Angular Processing (ECAP) technique has been proved to be an effective method for the fabrication of various bulk ultrafine-grained materials 1990s. The sample can obtain micron or nanostructured microstructure by subjected to intense plastic straining in a die for ECAP .By ECAP technique, the AlTiB master alloy materials will obtain ultrafine grain as well as good effect of refinement and mechanical properties . ECAP technique will also promote the extensive application of AlTiB master alloy.Based on new research result of ECAP deformation in world , the influence of different parameters on microstructure grain refiner was investigated. The deformation force was calculated. And the die for ECAP was designed and manufactured. Subsequently , in this experiment the AlTiB master alloy materials were deformed in the die for ECAP.
