With the development of industry and agriculture, our environment deteriorates gradually, especially water area pollution. The treatment of high concentration organic wastewater is always a hotspot and a difficulty in wastewater treatment. Diosgenin wastewater is a kind of high concentration, thick color, and acidity organic wastewater. It is a very important sort of wastewater that appeared recently. The wastewater belongs to organic industrial wastewater of high concentration. In response to the characteristics of this wastewater quality, the present treatment situation and problems, on base of investigation and exploratory bench-test, this study recommends diosgenin wastewater treatment technology: Candida yeast - photosynthetic bacteria - activated sludge process. The treatment performance, effective factors and technical parameter of each set and the combined process has been studied. The following results were obtained:1. Domesticated yeasts fit on the surroundings of containing high concentration sugar, high concentration carbon, and high infiltration pressure. The laboratory—scale continuous treatment of diosgenin wastewater used yeast in study, and the optimum parameter is: temperature 30℃, pH4.0, CODcr:N:P=200:5:1, HRT=5d. In this condition, when the influent wastewater CODcr is 15000mg/L, the outflow wastewater CODcr is about 1200mg/L and the weight of dry yeast can reaches 9.13g/L.2. The effect of directness treatment of diosgenin wastewater used PSB is not distinct. The reason may be the main nutrient matter of PSB is difenzi organic acid, amino acid, sugar and so on, but the main ingredients of diosgenin wastewater are starch, polysaccharide, protein and so on.3. The laboratory—scale continuous treatment of yeast outflow water used PSB in study, and the optimum parameter is: temperature is 25~30℃, pH is no need for any further adjustment, HRT=40h, in no light conditions and the outflow water CODcr is 162mg/L.4. Based on aboratory—scale continuous treatment of diosgenin wastewater, the study first use continuous dynamic test with yeast-photosynthetic bacteria-activated sludge process. In the process we use contact CSTR model as biochemical reactors(suspended growth type reactors). The research results manifest: operating on high DO in yeast which...
