A series of polymerizable nonionic urethane surfactants were synthesized with 2, 4-tolylene di-iso-cyanate(2,4-TDI), polyethylene glycols(PEG) of different molecular weight and allyl alcohol. First, the synthetic conditions of this series of polymerizable nonionic urethane surfactants were studied, the optimum reaction conditions are confirmed by the experimental results as follows: in first step of reaction between allyl alcohol and 2, 4-TDI, allyl alcohol is dropt into 2,4-TDI at room temperature and then refluxed at 70℃for 3.5h; in the second step, the product of the above is dropt into solution of PEG at room temperature and then reluxed at 70℃for 3.5h. The final products are characterized by FTIR and1HNMR and their properties, such as conductance, surface tension, CMC, performance of emulsion, rheology are tested; Furthermore, the polymerizable ability of their self, and with acrylate was also reviewed. The results show that their CMC in the order of molecular weight from small to large are 0.015mol/L,0.016mol/L,0.044mol/L , they are Newtonian fluid and with the better emulsifiers than usual OP-10 for MMA, BMA, BA. Their emulsion powers are increased with the increasing of the molecular weight. The calculation of HLB also points out that the HLB will grow with growing of the hydrophilic chain, and the hydrophilicty will be enhanced, there all accord with the conclusion of experiments. The polymerization experiment proves that these surfactants could monopolymerize with their self, and copolymerize with acrylate in water to form stable polymer emulsion. The membrane by baking at 110℃has perfect waterproof ability. Two polymerizable urethane surfactants including both nonionic and anion structures were synthesized with 2,4-tolylene di-iso-cyanate(2,4-TDI), polyethylene...
