Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is a progressively degenerative disease of the central nervous system. The patients exhibit marked decline in cognitive ability and severe behavioral abnormalities, so AD is recognized as a major public health problem and has severe impacts on human beings. Its incidence rate is about 5% in people over 60 years old. It has become an important factor that seriously affects the development of families and society, and triggers wide attention all over the world.Through a lot of experiments on evaluating the medicine and clinical curative effects of agedness dementia, it's observed that many active medicines are active cetylcholinesterase (ACh E) inhibitors. A wide range of evidences show that acetylcholinesterase (Ach E) inhibitors can interfere with the progression of AD. The successful development of these compounds was based on the well-accepted hypothesis that the decline in cognitive and mental functions associated with AD is related to the loss of cortical cholinergic neurotransmission. Donepezil inaugurates a new class of AChE inhibitors with longer and more selective action with manageable adverse effects. This article is a research on the synthesis of Donepezil. In the comparison of the previous synthesis methods, two new methods are designed. It's proved that the two methods are integrated approach for the synthsis of Donepezil. The main materials for preparing Donepezil are diethyl malonate, isovanillin,...
