Glass fiber reinforced nylon has been widely used in many fields such as automobile, electric, electronic etc. Halogen free flame retardant glass fiber reinforced nylon is very important but quite difficult because of the "candlewick effect" of the glass fibers. In this paper, aiming at solving the problem of "candlewick effect" occurring in melamine cyanurate flame retardant nylon 6 reinforced with glass fiber, on the base of our previous work, we prepared the flame retardant through reaction of melamine and polyphosphoric acid with heteropolyacid as a catalyst in ethanol solution. FT-IR, TGA and XRD were used to characterize the reaction product. The effect of the affecting factors such as reaction time, the amount of the catalyst and the addition order of reactants were systematically investigated. The flame retardancy of PA6/GF/FR should be improved. For improving FR thermal stability and simplifying processing, the nitrogen-phosphorus FR was further prepared through thermal polymerization of MP and characterized by FT-IR, TGA and XRD techniques. The effect of the affecting... |
