Conductive polymer composite filled with Carbon Black(CB) was boomed from 1980s and widely researched in polymer function materials. Among the available polymer matrix, thermoplastic elastomer, polystyrene-block-cis-l,4-polybutadiene-block-polystyrene (SBS) was well known for its outstanding mechanical, processing properties and extensively industrial applications. Conducting polymer composites were prepared by dispersing CB conducting filler in SBS matrix. In this way, the composites could have a wide range of electrical conductivity and mechanical properties during manufacturing. The electrical conductibility of polymer composite can change from insulator to a (semi) conductor over a very narrow range of CB concentration. This sharp discontinuity in the relationship between the filled content and conductivity of composites often called percolation threshold. It was found to be affected by such factors as surface energy, the size of the filler particles, processing parameter and so on.Three kinds of CB were used as conducting filler samples. From these filler, three kinds of polymer composites were prepared by blending and kneading with a mixing roller. The electrical conductivity of the composites was studied. The higher conductivity of the conducting composite was found in the sample of CB-E900 with the larger surface area, smaller average particle diameter, ratio of particle size and shell structure. The percolation threshold of the composite filled with CB-E900 was about 10-20 %. If the concentration of the filler in the composite was in the region...
