In order to move towards sustainable development, we need to make informed choices about how best to advance our economic and social development while protecting our natural environment. The three major themes that the developing human society faced up to nowadays are resources, environment and population. With the high-speed development of modern science, the environmental problem has brought the new challenge to people. People's environmental consciousness being enhanced, the research and development of the environmental material have been promoted. Cuprous oxide, one of the promising environmental materials,will be playing an important role in the photo-catalytic degradation treatment of chemical pollutants.Cuprous oxide, a kind of important inorganic industrial chemicals, is widely applied in many fields, such as antipollution coating, glass, pottery, plastics, agriculture and catalyzing, environmental protection due to its unique properties. In our country, the consumption of cuprous oxide increases steadily, so that studies on preparation and application of cuprous oxide were more active in recent years. Many researchers have being aimed on the preparation methods of cuprous oxide recently.
