The synthesis of organic-inorganic hybrid materials is based on the association of organic and inorganic materials in order to obtain a new material with the desired properties.A novel organic/inorganic hybrid material containing heteropoly oxometalate, (C12H14N2)2. P Mo12O40 have been synthesized and characterized.Lots of experiments have been done to composite new organic/inorganic hybrid materials with hydrothermal method. The temperature, pH, and the reactant ratio were found all can affect the consequences. The optimized synthesis conditions for the product is: with a molar ratio 1:1:1:1000 for ZnO, 1,2-Bis(4-pyridyl)ethane, H3[P(Mo3O10)4].xH2O and H2O,pH=3-4,at 160°C.EDS, IR spectra and X-ray crystal structure analysis were carried out to determine its composition and crystal structure for the new compound. The crystal belongs to monoclinic space group P(-1) with lattice parameters a = 11.3577(9)A, b = 12.2030(10) A, c = 18.1588(14) A, α= 80.866(2)°,β= 78.170(2)°, γ= 88.783(2)°, ν=2431.9(3) A3, Z=2, and R1 = 0.0454, wR2 = 0.0880. (P Mo12O40)4-anions and protonated 1, 2-Bis(4-pyridyl)ethane pack to construct the crystal structure though electrostatic interactions and Hydrogen bondings. Its optical absorptive characteristic is obtained by the measurement of diffuse reflectivity, and we also got its thermostability by TGA.
