The environmental aging behaviors of a vinyl ester (VE) resin in distilled water, 3%NaCl aqueous solution, 5%H2SO4 aqueous solution and 10%NaOH aqueous solution were studied in laboratory. The absorption characteristics of the VE casts in these environmental media were investigated. Moreover, the effects of the environmental aging on the static and dynamic properties of the VE resin and aging mechanisms were analyzed. Meanwhile, the electrochemical corrosion behavior of the VE resin based carbon fiber composite (CF/VE) in 3%NaCl aqueous solution was investigated in terms of the electrochemical property of the composite and the effect of coupling with alloy on the composite. The aim of this paper is to provide valuable data on the matrix aging and the electrochemical corrosion for the durability evaluation on the CF/VE...
