Neodymium-doped phosphate laser glass was a kind of laser glass materials which china developed early relatively, applying to the fields such as nuclear fusion, high power laser amplifier and optic fiber laser, et al.Due to the high thermal expansion coefficient, phosphate laser glass shows bad thermal and chemical stabilities and low-heat mechanical intensity. By changing the composition of glass such as adding Al2O3 and F2,and improving preparation technology, the thermal expansion coefficient can be decreased , at the same time, Pt and molecular water(or textural water) can be get rid of . According to fluorescence and absorption spectra ,we calculate spectroscopic parameters of Neodymium-doped phosphate laser glasses by Judd-Ofelt and McCumber theories.Introducing Al2O3 in glass substrate can decrease thermal expansion coefficient of glasses to α=38.75×10-7/℃. Introducing F2 in glasses can not only get rid of water, but also decrease phonon energy of glasses, at the same time , improve phonon efficiency and optimize spectroscopic properties. All the researches extend the application range of neodymium-doped phosphate laser glasses.
