Nanoparticls have become one of the quite popular subjects in materials research fields owing to their many peculiar properties in optics, acoustics, electricity, magnetism, heat, catalysis, mechanics, chemical activity, etc, and their great potential high technology applied prospects. Inorganic-organic nanometer composite materials possess the characteristics of inorganic material, organic material and nanomaterial, so they have new applications in many fields such as electronics, chemistry, catalyst, mechanics, biochemistry, etc. Photochromic composite materials with good light sensitivity and extensive applications are being paid more and more attentions of all material scientists. In this dissertation, photochromic glass micrometer-sized powders and PMMA/PS composite material was synthesized. Photochromic nanoglass particles were prepared and mixed with methyl methacrylate and styrene, and nanometer composite material having photochromism was synthesized after polymerization was carried out. The effect factors on composite materials were discussed systematically. The prepared samples were deeply investigated by TG-DTA,FTIR, XRD, SEM, etc. The results show that the composite materials have good photochromism and transmissivity.
