| The trayed column is a kind of mass transfer and separation equipments which are widely used in these fields such as chemical industry, oil refining, food substance and light industry. The tray hydraulic performance is directly related to operational capacity and separation efficiency on column. Up to date, there isn't systematically report on effect of liquid viscosity on the tray hydraulic performance. The effect of liquid viscosity on the tray hydraulic performance was studied systematically and generally in this dissertation from microscopic view to macroscopic view, which was financed by F.R.I, of America. The study results provide valuable experimental data for engineering design and industry application for high viscosity systems.In this study, the experiments were carried out in Plexiglas columns, whose diameters are 200mm and 1200mm respectively.
