Study On Synthetic Technology Of The New Antidepressant Drug-Mirtazapine

The mechanisms of depressants and the development of antidepressant drugs have been described in this paper. The action mechanisms and pharmacokinetics of Mirtazapine have also been introduced.Two synthetic routes of Mirtazapine have been determined and investigated afterthe analyzing and trying for the literal synthetic methods. The target compound was obtained from mandelic acid through 11 steps in one route, the overall yield is 12.4%. In another route, the target compound was obtained from methyl benzoylformate through 9 steps, the overall yield is 23.8%, which was 23.8% more than that of the literal synthetic methods. The structure of Mirtazapine has been confirmed by ~1H-NMR and MS.The synthetic technology of each step has been optimized, resulting in decreasing the cost, simplifying the operation procedure, and suitable to industrialization.
