The heavy metal complexation capacity, CC, of nature water is a quality parameter which measures the ability of the system to complex heavy metals. The thesis is based on the study to the sea area near the Yellow River estuary and the sea area near Dalian ETD Zone of the Bohai Sea, which are selected as typical areas. Copper and plumbum are selected as reference metals. By using anodic stripping voltammetry (ASV) technique combined with'pre-equilibrium'complexometry, the Copper complexation capacity (CuCC) and plumbum complexation capacity(PbCC) of the seawater and the conditional stability constants (K) of metal-ligands of seawater samples collected in the typical areas of the Bohai Sea are determined. The thesis also studies the changing rules and distribution rules of the typical areas. On this basis, the thesis makes further research on copper ion's toxicity and the self-purification capacity of seawater to copper. From these srudies, we have obtained the several conclusions as following:a) The CC of the sea area near the Yellow River estuaryThe mean value of CuCC in the sea area near the Yellow River estuary for the surface seawater is 398.4nmol/L, the mean value of lgKCu is 8.35; The mean value of PbCC is 212.9nmol/L, the mean value of lgKPb is 7.91. The mean value of CuCC is 376.2nmol/L for the bottom seawater, the mean value of lgKCu is 8.21; The mean value of PbCC is 144.4nmol/L, the mean value of lgKPb is 7.87. The order of CuCC, PbCC is as follows: CuCC>PbCC.The distribution characteristic of CuCC in the sea area near the Yellow River estuary for the surface seawater is that the south sea area is high and its distribution is badly-proportioned, the north sea area is low and its distribution is well-proportioned. The distribution characteristic of PbCC is similar to CuCC', which is high in the south sea area, low in the north sea area.b) The CC of the sea area near Dalian ETD ZoneThe mean value of CuCC in the sea area near Dalian ETD Zone for the surface seawater is 543.6nmol/L, the mean value of lgKCu is 7.35; the mean value of PbCC is 276.3nmol/L, the mean value of lgKPb is 7.57.
