Acrylonitrile is an important petrochemical product, it is monomer of acrylic fiber and also primary raw material for thermoplastic resin such as ABS, SAN, NBR, adipodinitrile, acrylamide. Many acrylonitrile plants began production volume expansion and modification due to downstream product demand. According to experience of modification of many acrylonitrile plant, requirement of catalyst is becoming increasingly higher because factors such as higher reactor pressure , insufficient catalyst load are affecting production of acrylonitrile plant, so developing new type catalyst of preparation of acrylonitrile by propylene ammoxidation with excellent performance will be of great importance.On the basis of consulting large amounts of documents of home and abroad , we give a brief introduction to development history of acrylonitrile production, catalyst of preparation of acrylonitrile by propylene ammoxidation. Through summary of past R&D, production experience and documents, we confirm R&D plan of new type catalyst of preparation of acrylonitrile by propylene ammoxidation. Through many tests, 30 samples of catalysts are obtained, after primary selection of acrylonitrile yield, selectivity and propylene conversion rate, formula of new type catalyst of preparation of acrylonitrile by propylene ammoxidation MMX-1 is confirmed.
