The polyurethane elastomer has excellent abrasion resistance, tenacity, fatigue durability, chemical resistance and high impact resilience, etc. It's a kind of engineering materials with broad applications. The traditional way of making polyurethane has many disadvantages, such as heat resistance, so it set bounds to its further application in engineering technology.Polysiloxane polymers possess important physical and chemical properties due to its unique structure. These properties include low glass-transition temperature, very good resistance to temperature and oxidant agents, good electrical insulting qualities and thermal stability, high permeability to gases, biocompatibility and etc. The fluorosilicone has better surface performance. But exhibit rather poor mechanical properties and low adhesive force, which restrict its application very seriously. So from now on we can see both have some kinds of merits and demerits, however copolymer of polysiloxane and polyurethane combining their advantages can improve the properties of polysiloxane and polyurethane. Polysiloxane-polyurethane copolymer which would render better heat resistance and lower temperature flexibility than polyurethanes themselves and better mechanical strength and abrasion characteristics than polysiloxane has the potential application as new material.
