With the increasing population and development of the economy, cadmium (Cd) and Phenanthrene (Phe) have been excreted into the environment, and have brought the pollution. Earthworms are the representative organisms in soil animals, which have become a bioindicator of soil contamination. EEC prescribed in 1981 that there must be the data on the acute and chronic test to earthworms for one new chemical before it came into the market. Therefore the acute and chronic tests of Cd and Phe to earthworms were performed in this study in order to know the toxicity and mechanism of toxicosis of these heavy metal and organic pollutant on environmental organisms. Eisenia andrei used in this study which is one of the international standard species for experiments. The acute toxicity of Cd and Phe to earthworms (Eisenia andrei) was studied by the methods of artificial soil test. The results showed that the single toxic sequence of Cd and Phe was Phe > Cd. The values of their LC50 were 788.71mg/kg,42.51mg/kg, respectively. The difference may...
